So this morning I did my regular 6-7 mile run with my running buddies.  Our average pace was 7:53.  After reading some other blogs I am feeling running inadequate :)  I never ever do speed work and I only run 3 times a week.  I do other forms of working out but I'm thinking if I want to step up my running game I might want to bump it up a bit?!?  Any suggestions?

I do the same thing too! We women know who to compare and find the negative in ourselves! From what I read you are doing great! Better then I... a newbie! I too want to do better at running and working out! You will get there! I hope I will too!

If you can run a 1:25 half without speed training and running 3x a week consider yourself lucky. You have the a natural ability to run fast without putting as much time into training as others. A lot of people on the blog run fast, but they have to work REALLY hard to get there. The only reason you should bump it up is if you were really determined to be hard core and bust out a 2:50 marathon :)

Ditto on the above comments. You have a great pace, so if you're happy with where you are, stick with it. It's tough trying to balance our athletic lives and family lives. I would imagine that's even truer for someone who has twins. :)

You are an amazing runner! Just keep on keepin on and do whatever you feel best about. Everyone is so different. I like to run high mileage for my sanity (mental health) but that is totally just me and I am definitely not as fast as you. Running higher mileage does not necessarily make you faster. :)
